This pelham is made of stainless steel and therefore designed never to rust, bend or break. Although the low port in this pelham is supposed to create space for the horse’s tongue, it can also pinch the side of the tongue in larger horses. If used roughly there will also be pressure exerted on the palate. Ideally used with double reins – the curb rein, applies poll pressure to lower the horse’s head and curb groove pressure to tilt the angle of the nose in towards the chest. The snaffle rein has a more direct contact with the horse’s mouth. It can also be used with rein connectors and therefore a single rein.
Sizes: 4′, 4.5′, 5′ and 5.5′.
