Description
The French link was developed to lie in more of a curve than its jointed counterparts and it is therefore better suited to the shape of the horse’s mouth. By allowing the horse to move it gently with his tongue, it reduces the amount of tongue pressure associated with the jointed mouths and encourages the horse to accept the bit.
Most horses more readily accept the French link and are more comfortable in their mouths, due to its unique ability to flex as the horse requires.
The rubber covering on the bit makes the action of the bit on the horse’s tongue and bars less severe. This encourages the sensitive horse to soften in the jaw and mouth, promoting a light positive contact.
The mouthpiece cannot pinch or damage the corners of the mouth and is very effective on young horses. The full cheek prevents the bit from being pulled through the horse’s mouth. Correctly used with fulmer keepers, the mouthpiece cannot be turned over in the horse’s mouth while at work.
Also, the full cheek design provides more lateral control by creating light pressure on the horse’s cheeks.
** No returns or exchanges are possible if there are chew marks on the mouthpiece.
