Description
This Sprenger short shank hackamore is supplied with stainless steel cheek pieces, a padded leather noseband and leather curb strap. A hackamore acts on the poll, the sensitive bridge of the nose and the horse’s jaw. This ‘bit’ should sit halfway between where a cavesson and drop noseband would lie.
The rider should be able to ride the horse with weight and shank aids through the turns when using a hackamore. Single sided rein aids are not possible as no ring is attached to the hackamore cheek. The short shank puts less pressure on the nose, making this the kinder of the hackamores and is popularly used for Western riding.
Shank length: 21.5cm. Colours: Black and Brown.
