The Sprenger Sensogan WH ultra snaffle is manufactured from the newly developed SENSOGAN® material exclusively available from Sprenger Germany. The new bit material developed by Sprenger is the result of additional development and consequent improvement of their original bit material – Aurigan. It is the distinctive composition of copper, manganese and zinc that makes SENSOGAN® so special. With a reduced copper content the oxidation process is still maintained, however, the newly developed combination with manganese is what makes the difference. This combination results in a smoother and more regulated process of oxidation. Tests show a very positive influence on the horse’s satisfaction, motivation and willingness to perform. The copper discharge quantity into the horse’s saliva is reduced considerably, which helps to preserve the bit’s white gold colour for a longer period of time.
The bit features the popular double jointed KK Ultra mouthpiece which is shortened and angled forward by 45 degrees. The angle ensures that the central link lies gently on the horse’s tongue, resulting in an even and constant contact to allow for clear instructions through the reins. The innovative KK Ultra bits take advantage of the exceptional sensitivity of the horse’s tongue which multiplies the perceptions from signals given by the bit. When the reins are pulled back, the central part of the KK Ultra mouthpiece rests fully on the tongue without squeezing or pinching. The tongue’s sense of touch is utilised and clear instructions can be given. The anatomically adapted mouthpiece is very comfortable for the horse as the rider can give softer instructions and the horse’s suppleness in the jaw is harmoniously supported.
In addition the central link of the Sprenger WH Ultra bit is covered in a soft, yet tough rubber. This bit is particularly suited to sensitive horses, providing a gentle stimulation to the tongue which encourages the horse to chew. The chewing activity promotes salivation, allowing acceptance of the bit and relaxation of the jaw.
