The Bombers Eggbutt Moulded Preferred Contact snaffle has uniquely shaped cylindrical sides whilst being flat through the middle section.
The Eggbutt cheek helps to prevent pinching of the horse’s lips and gives a solid feel against the side of the face.
In addition, it prevents the bit being pulled through the horse’s mouth. The release is slower than the loose ring and also introduces light poll pressure.
The cylindrical sides are ribbed and is able to flex onto the bars at the bottom of the horse’s jaw. The ribs allow the cylindrical sides some independent movement and the tongue pad some stability.
The flattened centre moulds over the horse’s tongue, effectively reducing tongue pressure.
In addition, the tongue pad is shaped like an elongated circle and angled at 45 degrees to sit flush against the horse’s tongue and palate.
A flexible stainless-steel cable core ensures safety.
The bit is especially suited to horses where more common tongue relief methods have not worked, and some form of tongue pressure must be considered as an alternative.
The design of the bit helps to spread bar and tongue pressure more evenly.
Very good feedback has been received from riders for hacking and jumping especially.
The bit is also a useful alternative for horses that object to metal mouthpieces.
