This bit is an amazing combination of textures and actions. Popular amongst showjumpers and eventers alike, it is suitable for headstrong horses and should only be used by experienced riders. The 3-ring cheek offers an action similar to that of both a pelham and an American gag. The sweet iron mouthpiece is designed to rust and therefore enhance salivation. It is also twisted which creates sharper tongue pressure. The central copper rings encourage the horse to mouthe the bit as well as reducing the nutcracker action. Ideally used with double reins, it could be used with rein connectors or a single rein on the bottom ring.
