Description
Portuguese gag bits feature two extra small bit rings in addition to the large bit ring.
The cheekpiece of the bridle is attached to the top small ring and the rein to the bottom small ring of the bit
This allows the bit to have an action midway between a snaffle and a regular gag bit.
The bit also features a central link with 5 sweet metal rings set over the link.
The metal rings and sweet iron covering on the bit encourage the horse to play with the bit which in turn increases salivation and softening of the mouth.
